Festulolium book dedicated to the 100y anniversary of the first artificial Festuca x Lolium hybrid
It
is already 100 years from the first reported artificial crossing of
fescues and ryegrasses and development of the first artificial hybrid
named later on as Festulolium. David Kopecky (IEB, Olomouc, Czech
Republic) and Arkadiusz Kosmala (IGR, Poznan, Poland) compiled a book
entitled 'Festulolium, from the Nature to Modern Breeding' consisting of
14 review and original research papers on genetics, evolutionary
biology, ecology, physiology, biotechnology and breeding value of
Festulolium and species within Festuca-Lolium complex published as a
special issue of Biologia Plantarum.
